Coast films rated as truly super
THE Gold Coast’s reputation as superhero central has been bolstered after two of its homegrown films were given star billing at the weekend’s San Diego Comic Con.
A new trailer and poster was released for Marvel’s Thor: Ragnarok while footage was shown to the audiences of the still-filming DC’s Aquaman.
Aquaman star Jason Momoa flew from the Gold Coast to appear at the world’s biggest pop culture expo where he introduced the first-look teaser trailer fresh from the set of Village Roadshow Studios.
The footage began with two fishermen on a small boat – similar to what was spotted filming at North Stradbroke Island in May.
The camera reveals the boat is floating above a fleet of underwater ships and an army of warriors riding sharks before cutting to Aquaman standing on the ocean floor.
Meanwhile, Thor’s trailer gave audiences a greater view at the superhero epic, which will be released in November.
