Campaign takes Flight
TRAVEL retailer Flight Centre will join forces with the Queensland Government in a new agreement to market the state around the world.
Tourism and Major Events Minister Kate Jones said the $6 million deal would build on a previous agreement that delivered a 38 per cent sales increase at travel expos in New Zealand and the United Kingdom.
She said the 2017-2020 partnership would include a program of marketing campaigns, consumer promotions, travel agent education and training, product growth and event support, especially for the Gold Coast Commonwealth Games.
Flight Centre managing director Graham Turner said the partnership would pay off for the state’s tourism industry.
“We believe that we are now in a golden era for travel,” he said.
