Brooker’s riding first

-

TIFFANI Brooker yesterday became the first female jockey to land 50 metropolitan winners in a season in Queensland when successful on Bold Gypsy at Ipswich.

Brooker will win the Queensland apprentice title this season and in doing so, has bettered Tegan Harrison’s mark of 45 wins, which she set in 2014-15. Harrison also rode 44 and 43 winners in 2012-13 and 2013-14 respectively.

In the race for the state training premiership, Tony Gollan clawed one win back on Ben Currie when Miss Arabella lobbed at Ipswich.

Both trainers have strong representation at Gatton tomorrow and Doomben on Saturday in a race that will go down to the wire. Currie leads by two wins going into the last few days of the season.
