Tinder date is cut short

THE perils of modern dating have landed a Brisbane woman in court after she slashed her Tinder date with a kitchen knife when she found out he was already in a relationship.

Alana Rose Jones was yesterday convicted of wounding after she cut the man on the forearm as he was trying to defend himself.

Judge Alexander Horneman-Wren said it was fortunate the man was not more seriously hurt. “The kitchen knife could have done substantial damage to him,” Judge Horneman-Wren said.

The 26-year-old was sentenced to 18 months’ jail with immediate parole.
