FORMER lovebirds Elon Musk and Amber Heard reunited on the Gold Coast yesterday, but it seems someone at the billionaire’s rocket company is unhappy at the prospect of any reconciliation.
Musk, the founder of SpaceX and Tesla, and Heard, the Hollywood actress, were photographed by the Bulletin having breakfast at a Miami bakery. Meanwhile, the Bulletin received a message, left, claiming Heard had been seeing a local sportsman and revealing her secret Gold Coast address.
The metadata of the message reveals it came from the IP address of Space Exploration Technologies Corp – SpaceX – in California.
LESS than a day after publicly announcing their split from different sides of the world, Elon Musk and Amber Heard yesterday enjoyed breakfast together at a Gold Coast cafe.
The billionaire and Hollywood star were spotted at Paddock Bakery, Miami, after Musk made the unexpected 18hour flight from Los Angeles.
The two arrived together about 7.40am in a black Tesla.
They scouted the venue for a table before settling on one in the corner of the front yard and sat facing each other.
There was no hand holding or touching, but the mood between the two seemed friendly and comfortable.
Once settled the pair ordered food, Amber getting up twice to go inside and grab different items. She elected to go herself rather than request waitstaff.
During their meal they were quiet but laughed occasionally and seemed to be enjoying each other’s company.
When approached, Musk said he had not been in the country long and would only stay “a few days”. He joked he flew over for Paddock’s food, stating the Nutella bombs were his favourite. Heard joked it was “embarrassing” how much food they order every time they visit.
When asked about their relationship status the pair looked at each other and laughed, giving no answer.
Musk and Heard, who got together in April, seemed aware of the media storm their separation has caused, with Musk commenting, “If you want to cause some real trouble” when they were asked for a selfie together.
Heard agreed to photos, but suggested they take them separately. Musk, who seemed more upbeat and lively than Heard, joked he could be in the background of Heard’s photo.
After the photos, Heard said she would be in the country until October and had not been able to enjoy much of the weather as she is mostly tied up in “the hangar” filming Aquaman.
They were friendly towards each other without the public affection they have displayed on the Coast in the past.
The split was said to have occurred not long after Splendour in the Grass music festival
in Byron Bay in July. It was the last time Musk was in Australia.
On Sunday, Heard hosed down speculation the two had split, writing “don’t believe everything you read in gossip mags”.
However, that changed on Tuesday when she wrote: “Although we have broken up, Elon and I care deeply for one

another and remain close.
“... Life is messy and these things aren’t always clear as black and white. In light of how quickly the story was taken from our hands and manipulated, I have had no choice but to address this.”
The pair cited distance and busy schedules as a contributing factor to the break-up.
While Heard is in the thick
of filming for Aquaman, Musk has been busy, even by his standards.
Tesla’s first mainstream car, the Model 3, was released on July 28 and SpaceX is set to launch its Falcon Heavy rocket for the first time in November.
The success of the rocket is considered essential if Musk is to realise his dream of a manned mission to Mars and
the planet’s eventual colonisation.
Heard, formerly married to
Pirates of the Caribbean star Johnny Depp, has been seen regularly on the Coast, most recently at the grand opening of Yamagen the Japanese Restaurant at QT Surfers Paradise, Lumberpunks Axe Throwing at Miami and Gold Coast Suns and Titans games.
