Aussie terrorist believed dead
AUSTRALIAN Islamic State terrorist Khaled Sharrouf – known for posting photos of his young son holding the severed head of a soldier on social media – is believed to have been killed in Syria.
Sharrouf is understood to have been killed in a coalition air strike, along with his sons Abdullah, 12, and Zarqawi, 11, in a car near the city of Raqqa on August 11. Members of Australia’s extremist community have reportedly seen photos of Sharrouf’s corpse and the bodies of his sons.
But Immigration Minister Peter Dutton said that authorities had difficulty confirming the deaths in an active war zone.
