COLOURFUL CAKES

DELICIOUS BY SARA ALICIA STREET, SOUTHPORT

If you’re looking for fun, colourful confectionary, this is the place to go. From birthdays to weddings, to cakepops and cookies, nobody does tasteful rainbows like Sara. Decorated with sprinkles, icing drizzles, macarons, flowers, frosted swirls, lollipops and edible unicorns, puppies, bunnies and piggies, every cake is a radiant creation perfect for any celebration.

THE UNICORN COCKTAIL

RAVEN’S LOUNGE BAR

53 THOMAS DRIVE, CHEVRON ISLAND

Raven’s owner Sarah Macsweeney warns their new cocktail causes sugar highs. “The unicorn cocktail consists of a mix of milky liquors to give it a creme brulee taste, the rim is coated with marshmallow whip, while the drink is topped with whipped cream, rainbow sugar straps and marshmallows, nerds, sherbet, fairy floss, gummy bites and a giant lollipop.”

SMOOTHIE BOWLS

CARDAMOM POD

FERRY ROAD BRICKWORKS, SOUTHPORT AND VICTORIA PARK, BROADBEACH

Cardamom Pod transports diners to rainbow city. The plant-based eateries aspire to make every dish as colourful as possible using natural ingredients, no artificial colours and truckloads of edible flowers. The vibrant selection spans smoothie bowls, pancake stacks, sweet treats, healthy salads and savoury dishes.

UNICORN ICE CREAM SANDWICH

SWEET BLISS DONUTS NIGHTQUARTER, HELENSVALE

Margaret Beard says it’s not only kids that love their mythical rainbow delights. “Everyone’s faces lights up wonderfully and that goes for the little kids right through to the older people. We use a strawberry ice cream and cookies then add fairy dust, pearlettes, unicorn ears and a unicorn horn lollipop. We love being creative and we make it with love.”

RAINBOW ROLLS

BLENDLOVE

1/253 Ferry Rd, Southport

The raw food gurus showcase some of the brightest, most vibrant produce nature has to offer for their rainbow rolls. Co-owner Riki-Lee Gilbert says they’re a combination of beetroot vermicelli noodles, avocado, mint, cucumber, carrot, rocket, marinated ginger tofu steaks and capsicum, all wrapped up in transparent rice paper so the rainbow shines through.
