Clark confident in Arbeitsam for Hawkesbury

- BRAD DAVIDSON

TIM Clark expects Arbeitsam to justify his short quote in today’s Rowley Mile at Hawkesbury and believes the untapped four-year-old might be one to watch out for next autumn.

Arbeitsam has been one of the finds of the Sydney winter, winning three Saturday city races from six starts this preparation.

He lines up as a $1.50 favourite in the Listed Rowley Mile today and Clark expects him to continue winning.

“He is just going so well isn’t he,” a pleased Clark said.

“He is in great form and now he has fully matured he is a tough gelding and he is really racing in great form.

“When I’ve ridden him he has always had something more to give if he gets challenged as well.

“They definitely haven’t got to the bottom of him yet and he is still a bit untapped. He is putting good margins in some handy horses so it’s always a good sign.

“Whether he goes much further this time in (beyond today, I’m not sure) but he has shown he has what it takes to be a player in some autumn races for sure.”

Clark rated Arbeitsam the pick of his rides at Hawkesbury today but the talented jockey has a host of good bookings, including Mr Kylin (race four) and San Marco (race five).

Clark will also ride Dancers for Brad Widdup in the opening race. The filly has had several trials leading in.
