Bullets fail to stop Conger

ILLAWARRA import Demitrius Conger led Brisbane on a merry dance in the final stages of yesterday’s NBL pre-season match on the Sunshine Coast to guide the Hawks to a hard-fought 96-92 win.

The Bullets led 90-87 in the dying minutes but Conger stepped up with the next seven points of the occasionally spiteful contest to get last year’s grand finalists home.

The athletic small forward finished with a game-high 23 points, three rebounds and two assists.
