Positive start for paddlers

AUSTRALIA has won a silver and a bronze medal on the opening day of the ICF Wildwater and Canoe Slalom World Championships in France.

Two-time Olympic medallist Jessica Fox teamed up with younger sister Noemie and Ros Lawrence to win silver in the C1 teams event yesterday.

Jess Fox, Lawrence and Tasmania’s Kate Eckhardt had earlier claimed bronze in the K1 teams event.

Lawrence has the busiest program of all the Australians, competing in both team events on the opening day.
