TOP TEN VEGAN EATERIES

Student reporter Philippa Zaphir taste-tested 10 of her favourite local spots for all things vegan.

THE MANDALA ORGANIC ARTS CAFE I had the child’s nachos which came with gluten-free chips, vegan cheese, vegan sour cream and black bean salsa.

GOVINDAS

There are many different options of curries, dahl and raw desserts that are also gluten-free. I recommend this restaurant for takeaway food.

TIAN RAHN I had the child’s vegetarian calamari, which was super crunchy, crispy and tasted just like regular calamari.

FEED THE EARTHLINGS Feed the Earthlings serves vegan burgers, pizzas and takeaway. I ate an Hawaiian pizza and the ham even tasted like real ham.

GREENHOUSE CANTEEN & BAR I had a vegan enchilada that was full of beans, vegan cheese and guacamole. This restaurant offers plant-based food that’s all really yummy.

ALL TIME COFFEE II had an amaziing doughnut that was lliight and flluffy and iit tasted awesome..

EASY HOUSE The “beef” and black bean with rice was so good. I like this restaurant because the staff were fun and welcoming.

CARDAMOM POD

I had an acai bowl with a great vegan granola, fresh fruit, and a vegan meringue on top. Cardamom Pod is at two locations.

BLENDLOVE I recommend trying the sweet potato fries with aioli, which tastes like the real deal, and the range of raw vegan slices.

FLOUR OF LIFE BAKERY

The croissants are so rich and flaky, and the pastry was filled with yummy vegan cream.
