Sparks fly on prices
A BLAME game has erupted between the State Government and Opposition after a report estimated Queensland consumers were paying more for electricity than anyone else in the country.
After the ACCC estimated Queenslanders had the country’s highest bills in the 2016-17 financial year, Energy Minister Mark Bailey and Liberal National Party leader Tim Nicholls traded barbs over the figures, crediting their parties’ efforts to apply downward pressure on prices while blaming each other for increases.
