THE Papua New Guinea beach volleyball team made waves during its recent 10-day training camp on the Gold Coast.

As part of the visit, teams competed at the Queensland Beach Volleyball Tour event at Coolangatta.

PNG’s second-seeded female team finished runnerup and the top-seeded male duo finished third.

It was good preparation for the Pacific Mini Games in Vanuatu in December which will be a crucial event for the teams to earn a place at GC2018. The City of Gold Coast has a partnership with the Papua New Guinea Sports Foundation (PNGSF).
