CHALMERS, PAMPLING CHASE PGA
DUAL champion Greg Chalmers and US tour winner Rod Pampling will play in the Australian PGA Championship on the Gold Coast next month.
Chalmers will be looking to win his third Australian PGA Championship title, with his most recent victory coming after a mammoth seven-hole playoff with Adam Scott in 2014.
PGA Australia CEO Gavin Kirkman said it remained a special event for Chalmers.
“I know it holds a special place among his career victories as it also honours the numerous PGA Professional coaches that have helped him along the journey,” Kirkman said.
It will be Pampling’s fourth straight appearance in the event, to be played at RACV Royal Pines Resort from November 30 to December 3.
Fellow Australian Matt Jones will make his debut this year.
“The Australian PGA Championship is a celebration of golf. Each year we look forward to welcoming home our international competitors,” Kirkman said.
“Greg (Chalmers), Rod (Pampling) and Matt (Jones) will be wonderful additions to the 2017 field which already boasts Sergio Garcia, Adam Scott, Cameron Smith and Jonas Blixt.”
