Guild turns on director

THE Directors Guild Of America has launched disciplinary proceedings against Harvey Weinstein after a string of sexual assault allegations.

The body, which represents film and TV directors, held an “important discussion about sexual harassment” with its national board of directors.

The producer, who has “unequivocally denied” allegations of non-consensual sex, is being investigated by UK and US police over rape and assault allegations.

The board said: “We are committed to eradicating the scourge of sexual harassment on our industry.”
