Citizenship failures

MORE than 4000 migrants were refused Australian citizenship in the past year it can be revealed, as the Federal Government relaunches its negotiations for strict new entry requirements to become an Aussie.

Almost half of those who failed did so because they failed the citizenship test.

Other reasons for refusal of citizenship include being unable to prove their identity, failing police checks and involvement in extremist organisations.
