SUCK IT UP IN THE WET
Lamington National
Park is famous for wildlife. But there’s one nature nasty that most hikers don’t want to see — the leech. Unfortunately, the recent wet weather means it’s a leechfest in the rainforest. Hiker Ken says when walking the Toolona Creek Circuit in dry weather he didn’t see a single sucker, but in the wet he ended up with a little leech army attached to his body. “I thought I had myself covered with long pants and gaiters, but they found a way in.”
