Hot Simmons misses out

BEN Simmons was one assist short of another NBA double-double as Philadelphia were beaten on the buzzer by Houston yesterday.

Australian rookie Simmons had 14 points, seven rebounds and nine assists for the 76ers in their 105-104 defeat to the Rockets.

The loss was Philadelphia’s fourth in five games and ended the 21-yearold’s four-game streak of at least a double-double. Simmons is averaging 16.4 points, 10 rebounds and 7.4 assists per game to start his NBA career.
