Newlands appointed to REIQ board of directors

SURFERS Paradise real estate agent John Newlands has been appointed a director on the board of the Real Estate Insitute of Queensland.

Mr Newlands (pictured), who has been Gold Coast Zone chairman for five years, was appointed at the institute’s annual general meeting on Friday and is one of two new directors.

He joins fellow new director Townsville Zone chairman Damien Keyes on the board of nine people.

REIQ CEO Antonia Mercorella congratulated the new directors.

“John Newlands and Damien Keyes are outstanding representatives of the best of our profession,” she said.

“I’m confident they’ll bring valuable insights and fresh ideas to their new roles.

Mr Newlands operates the Professionals Surfers Paradise agency and is the Professionals Group Gold Coast Zone Chairman.
