COMMITMENT: TIME FRAME AND COSTING FOR THE M2
New research reveals the M1 will reach vehicle capacity in some sections, particularly from Yatala to Oxenford, as early as next year.
The 36.5km four-to-six lane Intra Regional Transport Corridor (IRTC) is regarded as the only solution to get traffic off the M1 and reduce congestion on ramps.
The new Government within the first 12 months of office needs to cost and announce a time frame for the IRTC. To prevent a fatality, similar commitments must be given to fixing interchanges including Exit 38 at Yatala North, Exit 41 at Yatala South, Exit 45 at Ormeau, Exit 49 at Pimpama and Exit 57 at Oxenford.
