CHANNEL 10’s new American owner is determined to make its commercial rivals toast with secret plans for a breakfast show hosted by Sunrise star Samantha Armytage.

US broadcasting behemoth CBS is firming up the scheme, with the program expected to begin airing late next year.

Network bosses have been eyeing up Armytage as the “natural” choice to attract viewers from other networks.

Ten executives have been handed a “massive budget” by their new owner. Armytage commands a $500,000 salary at Channel 7’s Sunrise, just half of her co-host David Koch’s hefty $1 million pay packet.
