Palaszczuk: We will run in all Coast seats

-

PREMIER Annastacia Palaszczuk is promising Labor will have a candidate in every seat on the Gold Coast.

Labor still hadn’t confirmed yesterday any candidates for the seats of Surfers Paradise, Broadwater or Mermaid Beach. Nominations for candidates ahead of the November 25 election close tomorrow.

Asked yesterday if Labor would be standing candidates in every Gold Coast seat, she said: “Yes, that’s our intention.

“We will definitely have Labor candidates in all Gold Coast seats,” she told the Bulletin.

A week ago Labor revealed Gail Hislop would stand in Burleigh and Dr Judy Searle would be the Labor candidate for Southport.

Despite Ms Palaszczuk’s promise yesterday, Labor’s campaign focus on the Gold Coast has been resourcing the most marginal LNP seats of Gaven and Bonney in the north along with Currumbin in the south.

Labor is standing lawyer Meaghan Scanlon in Gaven and Rowan Holzberger is standing in the new seat of Bonney.
