Bra-clad Uber rider thief’s video goes viral

A wannabe Instagram star filmed stealing money from an Uber driver’s tip jar while wearing a bra with no top mocked her crime on social media. Gabrielle Canales, 18, was identified after footage of her snatching cash from a driver went viral. The viral clip showed two women and a man taking a cab in New York City before Canales, sat in the middle seat, pinched cash from the tip box.

Testing time for tram timetables

Tram timetables have changed as testing on the light rail extension to Helensvale ramps up. The G: Link is running trams from Helensvale but the carriages will remain passenger-free until the Gold Coast University Hospital. The tests are to ensure the upcoming timetable works and to tweak any issues with the line.

Controvers­ial Kiwi pastor moves here

A New Zealand preacher who said gay people should be shot in the head and that Kiwi PM Jacinda Ardern belonged in the kitchen has moved to Australia. Pastor Logan Robertson has announced via Facebook he and his family had moved to Brisbane and had “planted” a new church in the city. The controvers­ial figure was detained at the airport for nine hours on Monday, which he said “wasn’t a good start”.

For Anthony McGarrell, 54, it is the final insult after a decade of agony. He has no idea how he will survive after that and is set to lose his rented home, car and his dignity – again. Mr McGarrell, from Sussex Inlet in NSW, used to work in the entertainm­ent industry, until he suffered a double hernia while moving some staging for Channel 9 in 2007.
