Fake life of NRL wag

The Gold Coast Bulletin - - NEWS -

THE wife of former NRL prop David Fifita has said she rorted thousands of dollars in family benefits from Centrelink in order to keep up with other rugby league WAGs.

Jade Robinson, 26, faced a sentencing hearing at Gosford Local Court, north of Sydney, yesterday after pleading guilty earlier this year to claiming almost $50,000 in single-parent payments from Centrelink.

The court was told she took the payments even though she was not entitled to them because she felt like she was “living in her husband’s shadow”.

Robinson, who gave birth to the couple’s third child four months ago, flew in from the UK where she now lives with Fifita, who recently signed with English Super League club Wakefield Trinity.

Robinson, who has completed a teaching degree at the Australian Catholic University, pleaded guilty to two counts of obtaining financial advantage from a Commonwealth entity. She returns to court on Friday for sentencing.
