LNP far from classy when it comes to school upkeep

-

IN RESPONSE to Sam O’Connor’s letter (GCB, 21/11), while what he says sounds fine on the surface, the fact is the LNP is no better than the ALP when it comes to the issue of schools and their upkeep.

Building schools and letting them rot seems the only thing parents and teachers can rely on.

In this electorate which Mr O’Connor is contesting Biggera Waters State School which services the children who live in Biggera Waters has demountable classrooms which are falling apart, Labrador State School has a parking problem for parents and teachers.

It may be OK in Mr O’Connor’s eyes to promise $2 million to fix an intersection that only requires $200,000 to fix, but the LNP has not set aside one cent to replace the demountable classrooms or build a carpark for teachers at Labrador.

All we see from the two major parties is more of the same promises which only lead to neglect in the future, just like the M1 and every other project such as the “rail fail”.

Both are so wrapped up in developers and unions they have neglected the grassroots people in the community.
