Byron car park relief

BYRON Bay residents will soon be able to park for “free” in the tourist mecca.

Local residents can access a parking permit online from the Byron Shire Council website for $55 that allows them to park for free during paid-parking hours from next month.

The town’s controversial paid parking scheme, introduced in late 2015, charges visitors $4 an hour to park.
