STROLLING through Pacific Fair, we met up with Rolex Boutique owner Peter Langford-Ely (above) and asked about business.

“All fine except that due to unprecedented demand there is a waiting list for some brands.

“Our boutiques have stock but we do get a lot of inquiries from overseas but we like to keep our supplies for the local market.”

He then asked if we had read about Paul Newman’s watch. The late Hollywood actor’s own “Rolex Paul Newman Daytona” was auctioned for $23.3 million (in Aussie dollars). What’s more, the anonymous buyer had expected to pay more. Yikes!
