Top coach stepping down
TRIATHLON Australia performance coach Chris Lang has resigned from his position after nearly two decades mentoring the country’s best triathletes.
Lang most recently headed the national development program in Brisbane but the 39year-old is eyeing a move in to sports administration after 19 years of coaching.
“I have just finished my masters, majoring in organisational leadership and governance,” Lang said.
“I have been coaching since I left school and put myself through university. I think sports admin is probably the next step for me.
“I ave been very fortunate. I’ve done a bunch of laps around the world and seen and experienced a lot. Been lucky to work with a lot of outstandingd athletes and coaches.”
World Triathlon Series athlete Declan Wilson and 2017 national junior female champion Jo Miller are among those currently in Lang’s squad who will need to find a new base.
“I’ll stay in place until we got those guys sorted out,” Lang said.
