Kookaburras take on No.1

AUSTRALIA’S Kookaburras have withstood late pressure from Argentina to claim back-to-back Hockey World League Final titles with a 2-1 win in India.

A 58th-minute Blake Govers goal proved the difference in Sunday’s final, after Jeremy Hayward had opened the scoring in the 17th minute before Agustin Bugallo equalised just a minute later.

The win means the Kookaburras leapfrog Argentina into the world No.1 ranking.
