Masseur on sex counts
POLICE are seeking more victims of a masseur who allegedly sexually assaulted and raped clients over a 16-year period at various southeast Queensland locations.
The man worked as a masseur in the Hervey Bay and Maryborough area between 2000 to 2012 and in Brisbane between 2012 to 2016, offering remedial massage.
Superintendent Tony Fleming said police had identified 10 victims, all of whom are women, and believe it’s “likely” there will be more.
“We will allege the behaviour exceeded what you would normally expect in a remedial massage,” he said. “If you have concerns please contact us.”
He is described as having long grey hair worn in a ponytail and would have been aged between 50 and 65, at the times of the offences.
The 67-year-old man appeared at Cleveland Magistrates Court yesterday charged with seven counts of sexual assault and two counts of rape.
He will be remanded in custody until March 2018.
