Anybody unsure of what's in store for Burleigh, take a drive along Queen St in Southport. Once a beautiful street, with shady trees showing off the classic Queenslanders. Now just a glare of concrete and overhead tram cables. I didn't recognise it. So very, very sad.

We have just learned Black Swan Lake and surrounding bushland would qualify for protection under the new Coastal Wetland Legislation being brought in early next year by the Commonwealth Minister for the Environment. Nice timing Tom and your mates. You take paradise and put in a parking lot.

I reckon the lack of Christmas decorations is coming from fear that these areas may attract attention from terrorists. That means they win because disrupting the way we live is high on their wish list.
