Soccer warms up

MOST Gold Coast soccer clubs are back into full training mode with the kick-off to a pre-season competition only a month away.

After Football Gold Coast went through a competition restructure at the end of the 2017 campaign, there will be a 10-team Premier League underpinned by an eight-team Coast League 1 this year.

Season 2017 CL1 champions Twee United, runners-up Mudgeeraba and Nerang have been promoted to Premier League while Magic United have withdrawn senior men from all competitions.

But for the pre-season competition there are 19 clubs in four groups starting on Saturday, February 17, an event key to plans for the season proper.
