Light plane hits house

-

A PILOT was taken to hospital after his ultralight plane clipped the top of a house and crashed into a yard near Hervey Bay yesterday.

Police said the aircraft took off from the Howard airstrip to make the short flight to the town of Childers, when it was struck by cross winds, causing it to brush the roof of a house and crash into the yard.

The 68-year-old pilot suffered an ankle and head injury and was taken to Hervey Bay Hospital in a stable condition.
