Sparkler to light up race day

- SALLY COATES

WHAT do you get when you combine a 12 carat diamond, a world class jeweller and a fabulous fashion event?

The Calleija Milioni, a $1.6m ear cuff designed by John Calleija himself for Magic Millions Race Day.

“We had to make something really, really unique being our sixth year aligned with Magic Millions and this diamond, being a one off and a particularly rare diamond, is the perfect starting point,” Mr Calleija said.

“Then we have incorporated several stunning, rare Argyle pink diamonds with an exquisite three carat white diamond.

“We’re inspired by fascinators that have always been an off-centre feature, so we wanted the cuff to be the same.

“It comes with its own security guard and then it will be on show at our boutique at Marina Mirage on Sunday.”

The Milioni will be worn at the Magic Millions Harrolds Fashions on the Field by the event’s MC and 7 Network’s television host Candice Dixon, who is excited but nervous about her expensive accessory. “It is phenomenal,” she said. “I’ve never worn anything this expensive in my life – I’m basically wearing a house on my ear.”
