FISHING

- By Gold Coast Fishing Tackle

Offshore: Fishermen will have trouble going out until at least Thursday or Friday due to the strong winds. But when it calms down there will be plenty of fish around to catch. Spanish mackerel, marlin, dolphin fish and wahoo are hanging around the reef east of The Seaway.

Seaway: Plenty to be caught around the high tide in the morning. There is good fishing for jewies around the pipeline. There are also some trevally and bream around the rock walls of Wave Break Island.

Broadwater: You can catch some sand crab with bloodworms or beachworms. There are some whiting around.

Jumpinpin: There are some jewies and a school of tailor around. And you can catch some flathead in the deep.

Fresh water: It’s hard to fish at Hinze Dam with the wind but when it dies down a bit there will be some bass and saratoga on the edges near the timber.
