Garry earns hero’s nod
GOLD Coast Dolphins stalwart Garry Lovett has been recognised for his tireless work at the Queensland Premier Cricket club.
Lovett on Wednesday night featured on Channel Ten’s coverage of the Big Bash League as a successful nomination for the Homegrown Hero competition, which rewards dedicated volunteers at the grassroots level.
The winner of the competition will be announced on February 4 and will score a 10night cruise to Vanuatu, with their club also receiving $1000.
Lovett has long been a champion for women’s cricket at the Dolphins.
His nomination comes after Cricket Gold Coast life member Paul Baker featured last week for his relentless volunteering at Helensvale Pacific Pines Cricket Club.
