Hollywood lead role for Jessica

GOLD Coast actress Jessica Green has landed her big Hollywood break.

The local girl, who has long been slated as the next Margot Robbie, is starring in a new US TV show called The Outpost.

The original fantasy adventure series will air on Syfy – a channel owned by the NBC Universal Cable Entertainm­ent Group – in the UK, France, Spain, Portugal, Germany, Latin America, Poland, the Balkans, the Middle East, Africa and Australia from late 2018.

Dean Devlin, A-list writer and producer known for his work on films like Independen­ce Day, is an executive producer on The Outpost.

The blue-eyed, brunette actor and model said she was “so excited” to share the news which has been kept under wraps for months.

“Just goes to show never give up on your dreams,” the 24-year-old said.

“All those years of auditionin­g I finally got a ‘yes’.

“I’ve been in Utah doing pre-production for the last few weeks. So grateful to be given the opportunit­y to work with this amazing cast and crew on the 10 episode series.”

Filming began on Tuesday last week.

The series, which will feature 10 one-hour episodes, follows Ms Green’s character Talon who is the lone survivor of a race called the Blackblood­s.

When she sets off to the edge of civilisati­on to track her family’s killers, she discovers she possesses a mysterious supernatur­al power that she must learn to control.

The show will also star Jake Stormoen (Extinct), Andrew Howard (Hatfields And McCoys), Anand Desai-Barochia (Emmerdale), Robyn Malcolm (Top Of The Lake) and Kristian Nairn (Game Of Thrones).
