McEvoy eyes more magic

TRAINER Tony McEvoy has already captured Australia’s first feature juvenile race and he’s setting his sights on the next one, next month’s $1.5 million Blue Diamond Stakes at Caulfield.

McEvoy’s filly Sunlight won the $2 million Magic Millions 2YO Classic on the Gold Coast on January 13 and he’s got several horses aimed at the Blue Diamond Stakes.

Leading the charge is his undefeated two-year-old colt Run Naan, who won his debut at Bendigo before he took out the Maribyrnong Plate at Flemington on November 11.

McEvoy said Ran Naan would run in this Saturday’s Blue Diamond Preview (1000m) and would then run in the Prelude (1100m) before the Blue Diamond Stakes.
