Broncs set for a rough season, says Ikin

BRONCOS premiership winner Ben Ikin is not convinced his former team will be able to live up to expectations this season, claiming Brisbane will face a fight to make the top four.

The Fox-Sports host, who is about to embark on a Full-On Footy Tour across the state, says there are questions looming over the Broncos’ 2018 season, after a number of changes were made to their playing roster.

With Kodi Nikorima set to wear the No.7 and new signing Matt Lodge to lead the club’s forward pack, Ikin believes the Broncos have a number of challenges on their hands.

And he says if they can’t overcome these “questions”, they could miss out on a coveted top-four finish.

“They’ll have a fight on their hands to make the top four,” Ikin said, the host of Fox League show NRL 360.

“There’s a lot of questions around the side this year.

“Will Matt Lodge turn out to be everything they want him to be and need him to be? How will Andrew McCullough come back from injury?

“Will Darius Boyd’s body hold up?

“How will Jack Bird go? “If all those questions get answered in the positive, then the Broncos make the top four and they’re a force.”

Foxtel and News Corp Australia, the publisher of the Gold Coast Bulletin, will join forces this month for the Full-On Footy Tour, which will visit the Sunshine Coast, Cairns and Townsville ahead of the NRL season.

Ikin will be joined by fellow Fox League identities Justin Hodges, Gorden Tallis, Bryan Fletcher, Nathan Hindmarsh and Hannah Hollis at various locations across the state from February 28 to March 2.
