NOTHING BETTER THAN TUMBLING INTO BOOKS FOR NICOLE

- HANNAH SBEGHEN hannah.sbeghen@news.com.au

WHEN 7-year-old Nicole Moss isn’t doing somersaults at her gymnastics class she’s flipping through the pages of her favourite books.

“I like books because I like learning about different stories,” she said.

The St Brigid’s, Nerang schoolgirl said her hobbies included roller skating and swimming, but coming home to her bookshelf was one of her favourite things to do.

“I pick a different book every night and mum and I read it together,” she said.

“My best friends Charlotte, Maddie and Sophia are all reading now too and we all really enjoy it.”

Mum Lauren Moss said her daughter was enjoying books like Enid Blyton’s Mallory Towers, available for $3 with tomorrow’s Bulletin.

Nicole is also a big fan of the Billie B Brown series.

Mrs Moss said she was proud to watch her daughter pick up a book and find a spot to read by herself.

“She has become really independent with reading,” Mrs Moss said.

“She was quite reluctant when we first started reading books but now I often see her alone getting lost in a book.”
