Hayes lifts Bayliss ban

The Gold Coast Bulletin - - SPORT RACING -

DAVID Hayes has ended his stable’s in-house suspension of Regan Bayliss and he will reunite with straight track specialist Redkirk Warrior in the Black Caviar Lightning Stakes (1000m) at Flemington on Saturday.

“Regan is still riding for me but I gave him a break for a month as I wasn’t happy with the way he was riding for us,” Hayes said.

“He wasn’t riding to stable rules so we gave him a bit of a break. He’s back riding for us though now.”

Bayliss last rode for the Hayes-Dabernig team at Caulfield on January 27 when he finished ninth on Velox. Before that his last rides for them were on January 8.

Bayliss will partner Redkirk Warrior ($11), a horse he’s had great success with winning the Group 1 Newmarket Handicap and the Bobbie Lewis Stakes down the Flemington straight.

Redzel is the $1.80 Lightning favourite with Ladbrokes after drawing barrier one.
