Brennan likes old way

GOLD Coast Titans coach Garth Brennan has admitted taking a State of Origin game to South Australia is not his personal preference.

Brennan is a traditionalist but said he could see why the NRL had made arrangements to play an Origin blockbuster at the Adelaide Oval in 2020. Perth will also host a match next year.

“I am probably a bit of an old person that believes in that it’s Queensland and NSW,” Brennan said.

“But I understand that it’s about the growth in the game so if the NRL is considering expanding, then I think we need to take those games down to those areas.

“But personally I like the NSW-Queensland concept being played in those two states.”

Brennan, who is in his first season at the Gold Coast, confirmed he viewed the State of Origin series as “the pinnacle” of rugby league.
