If we lose straight-talking Barnaby, we will all be losers

-

DURING the past week or more I have watched Barnaby Joyce being cruicified by the media and I feel compelled to point out a few pertinent facts.

Barnaby Joyce has proven himself, to be a straight talking, high achieving Minister, which can’t be said about many of his collegues and if we lose him, we all will be the losers.

Reporter, Shari Markson, who I used to have a high opinion of, has tried to make a name for herself by digging into the gutter and muck raking Barnaby’s private life. What would it be like to bring down the Deputy Prime Minister!

Barnaby is only human and as such he is subject to the same frailties and temptations as are the rest of us and as the old saying goes: “He who is without sin should cast the first stone.”

He is not the first person or politican to be involved in a marriage breakup and he won’t be the last. We do not know the circumstances of his marriage, perhaps the flame has gone out. If that was to be the case, is he expected to spend the rest of his in a loveless marriage just so he keeps everybody else happy?

Whilst it is very regrettable, marriage breakups are a fact of life and they occur in all walks of life. It is nobody else’s business except for the people directly involved.

These side issues are nothing but a distraction from the business of Government and benefits nobody except the Labor Party.

This continual much raking is achieving nothing but to cause extra grief and embarrassment for Barnaby’s wife and children.

People are just sick of hearing about it.

It is time to get on with matters of government . D.S., HOPE ISLAND
