COAST LUCKY TO HAVE WATERWAYS WARRIOR

-

I CAUGHT up with a mate this week who is probably the most prolific diver on the Gold Coast.

Ian Banks dives and documents the Southport Seaway on a daily basis.

I have dived several times with him and I always learn something new that will help me as a fisherman, usually it is what area the school jewfish are in.

However, after seeing his latest observations of what is happening in the Seaway I feel the need to send a friendly reminder to fellow Gold Coast fisherman about being responsible with our rubbish when we are on the water.

Ian found an outboard motor, a skateboard, a couple of fishing rods, a steering wheel, hundreds of sunglasses and enough fishing lures to open a tackle shop.

Most Gold Coast fisherman are responsible but there are unfortunately a few letting the team and environment down.

Lucky for us we have guys like Ian who clean up after us.
