BIRTH YEARS

There are three jockeys born in the Year of the Dog riding at the Gold Coast meeting. Darryl McLellan (pictured), Sean Cormack and Jarrod Woodhouse all tick the box.

McLellan’s mount in the first race, Baggio, has come up with barrier 6, one of the lucky numbers. Cormack will ride Answered, who carries the lucky 8 saddlecloth, in Race 7.

His only other mount, Nothingforthepress, carries the lucky red and yellow colours and has drawn barrier 9 in Race 8.
