Bikie fined for colours

-

A FORMER Bandidos bikie caught wearing his colours on the Pacific Motorway at Palm Beach has been fined $800.

Blake Robert Heaslop, from Loganholme, pleaded guilty in the Southport Magistrates Court to one count of wearing a profited item.

The court heard Heaslop was one of a group of motorbike riders headed to NSW when police stopped them just after 3pm on October 29 last year.

Heaslop was wearing a black shirt with the word “Bandit” in yellow and red on the front.

“Bandit” is a word commonly associated with the Bandidos bikie gang as well as the red and yellow colours.

When police questioned Heaslop he denied it was related to the Bandidos.

Magistrate Gary Finger said Heaslop should have known he could not wear the T-shirt in public.

“If you don’t know you have been living under a rock,” he said.

He fined Heaslop $800.
