Woolies lifts share
WOOLWORTHS has increased its share of the $102 billion grocery sector for the first time in three years as it lures shoppers from arch rival Coles, a study has found.
And Aldi’s share of the nation’s hotly contested market is also set to hit an all-time high of 9.2 per cent, according to the industry overview by research house IbisWorld.
Woolworths lifted its market share to 36.7 per cent in the year to last June – the first time it had gained ground since June 2013 – the research house found.
