Drug deals in your kid’s bedroom

DODGY dealers lurking down the street from the high school used to be the biggest drug threat to your children. Now the devil is within, waiting for Gold Coast kids to access the dark web from their tablets and smart phones, hidden away behind closed doors in their bedrooms where drug deals are being done online without parents and school authoritie­s having a clue – until it is too late. This chilling new reality has been exposed in the mass schoolyard overdose that rocked a Gold Coast private school this week, with Saint Stephen’s College principal Jamie Dorrington warning yesterday of a bleak new world in which children could be exposed “to all sorts of sinister things’’. “It’s not a place anyone wants their kids to be,’’ he said as he spoke of the overdose of a substance that put seven of his students in hospital.
