NEW TENANTS FOR ROBINA’S EASY T SHOPPING CENTRE
CLARENCE Property’s campaign to offload the Easy T Centre in Robina has received a boost — with the Ballina-based company snagging two new tenants.
Snap Fitness-owned 9Round gymnasium, and boutique laser, skin and cosmetic franchise the Laser Lounge, opened their doors at the centre this week.
The new tenants have joined following the Easy T Centre and Easy T Medical Centre being taken to market by Mark Witheriff and James Branch, of Knight Frank, and Michael Hedger and Joe Tynan, of CBRE.
9Round and Laser Lounge have secured 127sq m and 100sq m tenancies in the centre on five and six-year terms respectively.
Industry sources said the square metre rate would likely be between $600sq m and $650sq m.
9Round fitness is a specialised gym, group exercise gym dedicated to circuit training with an emphasis on kickboxing fitness.
The Easy T Centre is 9Round’s first Gold Coast location, with Snap Fitness Australia owner Athanasi Comino saying he anticipates strong demand from locals.
“Easy T Centre is an ideal location for our first Gold Coast venue — it is close to the motorway and has plenty of accessible on site carparking, so it doesn’t have the usual difficulties that come with a major shopping centre,” he said.
Laser Lounge clinic franchise owner Linda Long said the Easy T Centre was one of the first locations considered when the hunt for space began six months ago.
“There seems to be plenty happening at Easy T Centre — it’s a nice, new centre and it has a fresh feel to it,” she said.
The Easy T Shopping Centre and Easy T Medical Centre, at 30-42 Scottsdale Drive, was purchased by Clarence for its Westlawn Property Trust (WPT) for $38.1 million in 2006.
It was developed by Robina Land Corporation in association with Robina Projects Australia. An expressions of interest campaign closes on March 22.
