FUNDRAISING: adj – seeking to generate financial support for a charity. That definition is quite straightforward so you have to wonder about the motives of this couple at a recent charity fundraiser. Due to the incredible generosity of a giving soul, all the food and drink was provided gratis to help maximise the amount raised. Having hoovered every plate of canapes that passed near them the uncharitable ones then complained that the donated wine they were drinking was not good enough and demanded to be served something much more in keeping with their refined palate. When told there would have to be a charge their bleats of protest at the injustice could be heard south of the border. It’s for a good cause stupid.

ONE of our rainbow-hued friends has a dilemma. The problem is whether to tell his gal pal of many years that her husband has a fake profile on a popular gay dating site. How does he know you ask? As ever through a mutual friend who met up for some discreet one on one time with the two timer and remembered meeting him with his wife in tow at the friend’s place for a party. Not an easy subject to broach and how do you break the news without the rule about shooting the messenger coming into play. Talk about dealing off the bottom.

FOR years she assured anyone who asked that her figure was all natural with no surgical help from anyone. Sadly that proud boast has been somewhat deflated with the appearance on social media of a pic from her youth. It seems sometime between living in rural Victoria as a 20 something country girl and her emergence here as a mid-30 gal about town enjoying a new life, she has managed to add considerable cleavage to what was a once a skimpy frame. Nothing wrong with self-improvement of course but telling little white lies about a sudden increase in the upper deck does lead one open to the teensiest dose of scoffing.

BETS are being taken as to how long this newly married couple are going to stay hitched. One wit has even suggested they should be the stars of a new reality show – ‘Divorced at First Fight.’ Their long engagement has endured more name calling and public spats than the North Korea/US peace plans. Friends who have been too close for comfort when they are in full meltdown mode have described the exchanges as deeply personal and unforgivable, but something obviously keeps bringing them back together.
